Leadership Academy for Consumers and Families.
As a person with a serious mental illness, or his or her family member,
what are your experiences in trying to get the help you need? How well
do others understand you or your family member's mental illness? You may
have encountered things you would like to change - Maybe the mental
health system or the stigma of mental illness.
But where do you
begin? How do you organize? How can one person really make a difference?
The Arizona
Leadership
Academy for Consumers and Families
can help. During a three day training session, you will learn the skills
you need to get involved and work for change.
The Arizona Leadership
Academy will teach
you how to:
- Keep informed of
local and state mental health issues that may affect you.
- Decide the best
action steps to take on your concerns.
- Organize your local
advocacy group into a respected and effective voice on mental
health.
You will also meet
others from around the state who share the same interests in creating
better services and living conditions for persons with mental illness
